Seahawks Blow Close Game

The Seattle Seahawks fail to advance to the next round even though the Chicago Bears gave the Hawks several chances to win the game Sunday.
A game with this much riding on it never should have reached overtime if not for key mistakes made in the fourth quarter by Seattle.
Late in the fourth quarter, on a pivotal fourth and one in Chicago territory, Seattle opted to go for it but failed to convert when Matt Hasselbeck mishandled the snap. This failure to muscle out even one yard to keep a possible game wining drive alive is the Seattle Seahawks season in a nutshell.
Nevertheless, with only minutes remaining, Seattle once again was given an opportunity to work their way down the field to give Josh Brown a chance at a game wining field goal. However, the drive was shut down after some questionable play calling, only a mere thirteen yards out of Brown’s range.
The outcome was undoubtedly sealed with the game headed to overtime. Even with the Hawks wining the coin toss in overtime, they were unable to muster a drive that would have sent them to the NFC championship game for a second year.
Seattle fails to live up to expectations losing 27-24.
